About

My name is Rhya Marlene Moffitt, and I’m a PhD Candidate in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Chicago. I’m currently writing a dissertation that focuses on Black anxiety, madness, and consciousness in the writing of Black women from the 19th to the 21st century. I’m also an educator with over 12 years of teaching experience. I’ve taught 5th grade through undergraduates, and my main passion is curriculum development and design. I’ve developed curriculum for my own classroom and clients such as the University of Texas at Austin’s English department.

I’m also a yoga student and teacher. My primary practice is Ashtanga, following the lineage of Sri Pattabhis Jois, but I also teach and practice Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Nidra. Follow my practice and teaching here.
